UI Buka Kesempatan Kuliah Online untuk Mahasiswa Indonesia

Dirjen Pendidikan Tinggi (DIKTI) Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan menggandeng UI sebagai salah satu perguruan tinggi dalam pilot project Pembelajaran Daring Indonesia Terbuka dan Terpadu (PDITT). Program pemerintah yang rencananya akan diresmikan pada April 2014 ini memungkinkan perkuliahan diakses seluas-luasnya oleh mahasiswa di seluruh Indonesia. Selain itu, lewat kuliah online atau dalam jaringan (daring) lintas universitas, mahasiswa bisa mengikuti perkuliahan dari pakar yang tidak didapatkan di perguruan tinggi asalnya. Kuliah daring ini dapat diakses pada laman http://pditt.belajar.kemdikbud.go.id/.

 

Kepala Kantor Pelayanan dan Pengembangan Sumberdaya Pembelajaran (PPSP) UI, Gatot Fatwanto Hertono, Ph.D. mengungkapkan, saat ini UI telah menyiapkan diri untuk menyukseskan program tersebut. Kuliah daring dari UI dapat mulai diakses oleh mahasiswa non-UI pada semester mendatang (semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2014/2015). UI, kata dia, tengah menggodok aturan terkait administrasi akademik bagi mahasiswa non-UI yang ingin mengikuti perkuliahan daring tersebut. Lebih lanjut Gatot mengungkapkan, untuk semester depan, UI telah menyediakan enam mata kuliah daring, yaitu mata kuliah Pengantar Ilmu politik, Metabolisme, Akuntansi Keuangan 2, Advokasi Kesehatan, Machine Learning, dan Pemrograman Logika. "Akan difungsikan sebagai satu perkuliahan penuh pada September nanti," ucap Gatot.

Pada tahap awal penyelenggaraan PDITT, DIKTI mensyaratkan perkuliahan dapat diikuti oleh mahasiswa yang terdaftar di perguruan tinggi baik negeri maupun swasta. Untuk tahap pertama, materi perkuliahan disediakan dan dapat diakses oleh mahasiswa yang telah melakukan registrasi. Ke depannya, PDITT memungkinkan adanya interaksi berupa tanya jawab dan konsultasi dengan dosen pengampu. Lebih lanjut Gatot mengatakan, mahasiswa yang mengambil mata kuliah di UI akan mendapatkan Nomor Pokok Mahasiswa (NPM). Dengan NPM tersebut, mahasiswa dapat mengakses perkuliahan daring di setiap semester yang diinginkan. Dalam perkuliahan daring ini, sistem penilaian yang diberikan kepada mahasiswa disamakan dengan sistem penilaian yang ada di UI. "Nantinya UI akan memberikan kredit berupa transkrip nilai, " kata Gatot lagi.

Dalam proram ini, DIKTI bertindak sebagai agregrator. Mahasiswa yang ingin mengikuti kuliah daring di perguruan tinggi yang dituju dapat mendaftarkan diri dan memilih mata kuliah yang diminati melalui DIKTI. Setelah itu, prosesnya akan berlangsung di perguruan tinggi masing-masing. Ke depannya, DIKTI membagi pengembangan program ini menjadi beberapa tahapan. Pada tahap selanjutnya, perguruan tinggi yang sebelumnya hanya mengikuti kuliah daring dapat turut menjadi penyelenggara kuliah daring. Hingga tahap keempat, perkuliahan daring ini ditargetkan dapat diikuti oleh masyarakat umum.

Terkait kuota, saat ini Gatot belum dapat memastikan jumlah maksimal mahasiswa untuk setiap mata kuliah dalam perkuliahan daring. Hal tersebut menurutnya masih akan disesuaikan dengan kesiapan dosen pengampu yang memberikan kuliah. Karena bertujuan untuk dapat diakses seluas mungkin, dosen harus dapat melayani banyak mahasiswa. Dalam perkuliahan daring ini, lanjutnya, mahasiswa dapat mengunduh rekaman perkuliahan dan materi-materi perkuliahan.

Selain UI, perguruan tinggi lain yang menyediakan perkuliahan daring ini ialah Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Institut Teknologi Sepuluh November (ITS), dan Asosiasi Perguruan Tinggi Informatika dan Ilmu Komputer (Aptikom). Di UI, perkuliahan daring telah mulai diterapkan pada tahun 2002. Saat ini, di laman scele.ui.ac.id yang dikelola PPSP terdapat 800 mata kuliah dari seluruh fakultas yang dapat diakses oleh mahasiswa UI.(KHN)

Package Strategy for Disaster Risk Reduction with Wireless Infrastructure

Natural disaster is something that we can’t avoid but we can reduce the risk, learning from other country like Japan who’s having suffered from many natural disasters, we can save time on discovering which technology we can use to handle emergency natural disaster.

In Japan, wireless infrastructure has been utilized effectively and efficiently for disaster risk reduction, and such infrastructure includes various functions from information gathering such as radars and sensors to information distribution or sharing such as early warning systems to communities.

This time Jakarta Distance Learning Center Universitas Indonesia (JDLC-UI) with Co-Organizer of World Bank Tokyo Development Learning Center (TDLC), Asian Disaster Reduction Center (ADRC), The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Government of Japan (MIC) and Private Company in Japan will introduce lessons learnt from the Great East Japan Earthquake and advanced efforts in disaster risk reduction, especially focusing on wireless technologies/solutions.

In addition, the importance and significance of wireless infrastructure for disaster risk reduction as a packaging approach will be emphasized since the whole system from gathering disaster information to warning people and communities must function harmoniously.

The seminar would provide useful ideas and updated technology information to those who intend to strengthen their disaster risk reduction systems utilizing leading wireless technologies.

Furthermore, the participants will benefit from these opportunities by strengthening mutual relations with relevant stakeholders in this field.

We will introduce application examples for road and bridge maintenance and monitoring systems using wireless sensor network technology.

Monitoring construction conditions using a wireless sensor network could be contribute to safety evacuation in times of severe disaster.

Proposed wireless system, by combining with ICT, achieves “Early warning” which informs community resident of disaster evacuation information accurately and promptly, and contributes to preventing the expansion of damage to human resources.

Newly developed point-to-point wireless solutions will be presented.

The proposed solutions provide multi-gigabit data transport over the air using the E-band frequency spectrum (70/80 GHz), only with compact and energy-efficient radio equipment.

In the event of natural disasters, timely delivery of information to/from affected areas is critically important, as fiber-based networks may not be available under the circumstances.

The proposed E-band radio technology can be useful as a redundancy media to fiber route and also helpful as an emergency communication network for earliest possible recovery of communities in the disaster area.

Kini telah tersedia SCeLE2 dengan fitur yang lebih baik. SCeLE2 dikembangkan dengan Moodle 2.4. Dengan versi ini, SCeLE2 menampilkan kemudahan bagi pengguna dan tampilan yang lebih fresh. Berikut ini fitur-fitur yang terdapat pada SCeLE2 :

1. Drag and Drop
Pengguna dapat melakukan drag and drop file yang akan dimasukan ke SCeLE2 dengan hanya menggusur file yang bersangkutan ke kotak yang telah disediakan.
2. Penambahan Aktivitas dan Materi
Tampilan penambahan aktivitas dan materi memudahkan pengguna khususnya dosen.
3. Forum
Tampilan forum memungkinan pengguna untuk membuat tulisan dengan rich text format. Kemudian, untuk menggunggah file yang akan ditampilkan di forum dapat dilakukan dengan hanya menggusur file yang bersangkutan.
4. Manajemen Kegiatan
Pengguna dapat melihat jadwal kegiatan berdasarkan beberapa kategori.
Selain itu, SCeLE2 memiliki tampilan yang telah disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan dan berdasarkan hasil penelitian dengan partisipan civitas Universitas Indonesia.

Hasil Monitoring & Evaluasi E-Learning UI 2013

Dalam rangka menjaga dan meningkatkan mutu pembelajaran berbasis e-Learning, unit PPSP melakukan monitoring dan evaluasi (monev) terhadap 801 mata kuliah yang menggunakan SCeLE pada tahun 2013.

Tujuan Monitoring & Evaluasi

Tujuan utama dari kegiatan monev tersebut adalah: (1) pemetaan implementasi e-Learning UI dan (2) melihat gambaran mata kuliah e-learning di UI, dalam aspek perencanaan, perancangan dan pembuatan materi, penyampaian, interaksi & evaluasi.

Monev tahun 2013 ini dilakukan secara online, menggunakan instrumen review yang diisi oleh reviewer dan kuesioner yang diisi oleh mahasiswa peserta kuliah. Instrumen review terdiri dari 12 item, sedangkan kuesioner terdiri dari 14 item dengan 6 poin pilihan jawaban.

Pada semester gasal, terjadi revisi borang karena adanya kuliah paralel seperti MPKT B, Ilmu Biomedik Dasar. Revisi dilakukan karena mayoritas aspek penilaian (perencanaan, perancangan dan pembuatan materi, penyampaian & evaluasi) sama untuk keseluruhan kelas. Aspek yang berbeda hanyalah aspek interaksi di dalam kelas. Review kemudian hanya dilakukan pada aspek interaktivitas di setiap kelas.

Objek yang akan dievaluasi adalah 801 mata kuliah di dalam SCeLE, 419 mata kuliah semester genap dan 382 mata kuliah di semester gasal.

Review dilakukan oleh tim yang terdiri dari ahli di bidang e-Learning, pengajar e-Learning, perwakilan Badan Penjaminan Mutu Akademik UI dan perwakilan Direktorat Pengembangan Akademik UI. Tim ini melakukan review selama bulan September hingga Desember 2013.

Hasil Review

Jika dilihat dari jumlah kelas di tiap fakultas atau kategori, kategori UI memiliki jumlah kelas terbanyak (n=188), diikuti oleh FMIPA (n=107) dan kategori Rumpun Ilmu Kesehatan (RIK) (n=104).

Dilihat dari persentase penggunaan e-Learning dalam perkuliahan, mayoritas masih menggunakan e-Learning antara 0-10% saja.

Dari aspek perencanaan, pengampu mata kuliah telah menyediakan Buku Pedoman Kerja Mahasiswa (BPKM) yang bisa diakses oleh mahasiswa (persentase ketersediaan=71% dan 55%). Jumlahnya lebih banyak dari tahun 2012 (persentase ketersediaan =46%).

Dari aspek penyampaian, penilaian paling tinggi pada tampilan kelas yang terstruktur atau sistematis (rata-rata=4,05 dan 3,06). Sedangkan penilaian terendah pada aspek interaksi di dalam kelas e-Learning (rata-rata=2,58 dan 2,63).

Dari aspek fitur yang digunakan dalam kelas SCeLE, fitur yang terbanyak digunakan adalah materi yang diunggah, tempat pengumpulan tugas online dan forum diskusi.

Dilihat dari aspek evaluasi, ada peningkatan dalam penyelenggaraan evaluasi hasil belajar dan evaluasi penyelenggaraan perkuliahan di kelas SCeLE.

Hasil Kuesioner Mahasiswa

Kuesioner disebarkan sejak September hingga Desember 2013, dan diisi oleh 489 responden, baik itu peserta kuliah di semester genap maupun gasal.

Dari hasilnya, yang mendapatkan penilaian tertinggi yaitu aspek kesesuaian materi dengan rancangan pembelajaran (rata-rata=5,09), kebergunaan SCeLE di UI (rata-rata=4,82) dan aspek ketersediaan kuliah tatap muka (rata-rata=4,74).

Sedangkan penilaian terendah pada aspek kesulitan penggunaan SCeLE (rata-rata=3,00), adanya umpan balik secara online oleh dosen (rata-rata=3,66) dan kenyamanan ketika mengerjakan kuis melalui SCeLE (rata-rata=3,83).

    Belajar teori ekonomi seringkali begitu membosankan bagi banyak orang.  Padahal dalam kehidupan sehari-hari banyak peristiwa / kejadian yang dapat dijelaskan secara sederhana dengan teori permintaan dan penawaran.

    Pemahaman tentang teori ekonomi perlu bagi siapa saja, bukan hanya kalangan akademisi, tetapi juga masyarakat umum.


    Tujuan dari materi ini adalah untuk mempelajari salah satu topik dalam ekonomi mikro yaitu teori permintaan dan penawaran dengan cara sederhana dan mudah dipahami serta aplikasinya untuk memahami kejadian-kejadian di sekitar kita.

    Pelayanan Pengembangan Sumber Daya Pembelajaran (PPSP) UI telah menyelenggarakan seleksi hibah Open Course Ware (OCW) tahun 2013.
